Made For City Life, Made For You
One of the first signs of stress, fatigue and ageing show under our eyes. With the increasing screen time through computers and mobile phones due to work or binge watching of our favourite series, we develop dark circles faster than our parents used to. Add to this, the fast paced urban life, exposure to UV rays, and a lifestyle where we often do not get enough sleep, the area around the eyes is visibly impacted and first to be noticed by everyone. At Detoxie, we’ve made a comforting, soothing eye gel that works! Not only does it fight the dark circles and brighten you up, it also soothes the area around the eyes from the day long fatigue we develop. A small bottle of love, to sweep all the stress away.
The Greens Your Eyes Need, Japanese Matcha & Moringa
Japanese Matcha- High chlorophyll content of Matcha protects our skin from sun damage and reduce photo-ageing, which means less wrinkles and less sun spots. It also protects our skin from impurities and chemicals in our environment that could clog our pores.
Moringa – Loaded with Vitamin C, it boosts collagen that reduces fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging puffy skin. It also has antioxidants, antibacterial, and nourishing properties that leave the eyes appearing brighter and full of life.
Extra Magic Of Caffeine, Ashwagandha & Hyaluronic Acid
Caffeine- has anti-inflammatory and constructive properties that decrease under eye puffiness and redness. It calms the skin and gives it a tighter and smoother appearance thereby reducing wrinkles and fine lines. Your face and eyes feel soothed and rejuvenated.
Ashwagandha- has high amount of antibacterial and antimicrobial properties, which help to keep the delicate under eye skin free of infections. It also protects the skin against free radicals, which keeps the skin vibrant, fresh, and bright giving the eyes a bright and energized appearance.
Hyaluronic Acid - Highly beneficial and effective against dry skin, it also reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, while also speeding up the healing process of wounds. It leaves the skin smoother and hydrated, giving it a healthy appearance.
Why Is An Under Eye Gel Better Than A cream?
Eye gels are lighter in weight, more soothing and cooling for tired eyes, thus reducing puffiness. Eye gels are also absorbed relatively faster so they’re great for busy, on the go urbanites as they leave little residue and women in particular can apply make up quickly. You should also know that the skin around the eyes is particularly susceptible to photo aging, as it’s many times thinner than the skin on our face, resulting in deeper UV penetration and accelerated water loss; and the tissues are highly elastic under the eyes to make it more prone to sagging and being puffy, which makes an eye gel the perfect product to fight against these stressors.
What You Should Expect
One of the toughest areas to heel is usually the under eye part owing to it’s delicate membranes. That’s why we think that an eye gel usually works better than an eye cream. Depending on how affected your under eye areas are or the condition of dark circles you can expect to see results in about 10-40 days. Frequently Asked Questions
Eye gels are formulated specifically for the delicate skin around the eye, so they tend to be thicker. Squinting and constant movement of the eyes also hasten the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and fluids collect under the eyes and cause puffiness and dark circles. Eye gels address these issues.
Detoxie’s under eye gel is lightweight and can be applied under your regular moisturizer.
Under Eye gels are best used at night, when you can apply a thick layer to soak in while you sleep. During the night the skin absorbs the product and is the most effective. If you find you need eye cream during the day, too, the trick is to apply only a thin layer and allow it to absorb before applying sunscreen and makeup.
Genetics, allergies like asthma, rhinitis, lack of proper diet, sleep deprivation, excessive stress, prolonged screen hours and fatigue are some of the major reasons of dark circles.
Puffy eyes or under-eye bags are caused by fluid retention. This causes blood to pool underneath your eyes. There are many reasons your body might retain fluids. Hormone levels fluctuating with your menstrual cycle, ageing, sinusitis, high salt diet and certain medications are some of them.
The under-eye area can look purple or bluish because the under eye skin is so thin and translucent that you can easily see the underlying veins. Some people—especially those with darker skin tones—produce extra pigment around the eye area, which can cause a general darkening of the skin under the eyes and on the lids.
Some of the more common methods include:
Apply a cold compress. A cold compress can help reduce swelling and shrink dilated blood vessels.
Get extra sleep. Catching up on sleep can also help reduce the appearance of dark circles.
