Made For City Life, Made For You
Have you ever wondered which sunscreen to choose? What’s the right SPF and whether it really protects you from the sun? Worry not, we’ve found just the right solution for our busy urban lives. Detoxie anti-pollution sunscreen protects you from daily pollution, spreads easily on your skin so that you don’t spend hours rubbing it in, it is non-comedogenic which means even if you have oily skin you can use it and gives you full spectrum (broad spectrum) protection from UVA as well as UVB rays. Oh and most importantly, you should know – an SPF 30 sunscreen protects you from 96.7% of rays where as an SPF 50 protects you from only 98%. Most dermatologists will tell you that for Indian skin and our urban conditions an SPF 30 is more than sufficient.
The Power Of Japanese Matcha & Raspberry Seed Oil
Japanese Matcha: Matcha is packed with chlorophyll, that can protect our skin from sun damage and reduce photo-aging, which means less wrinkles and less sun spots. It has up to 137 times the amount of antioxidants as compared to regular green tea. These antioxidants promote smoother and more supple skin due to its ability to rejuvenate skin cells and support skin structure.
Raspberry Seed Oil: It naturally absorbs UV-A and UV-B rays without any artificial chemicals. It has phytosterols which repair skin after sun damage that we can’t even see. It has high levels of Vitamin E, which is one of the more popular natural antioxidants. Antioxidants fight free radicals and combat oxidative damage, which is a leading cause of skin cancer and premature ageing.
White Water Lily, Chamomile & Coco Butter For Extra Protection
White Water Lily: It has soothing, anti-inflammatory properties which can help ease the heat and irritation of a skin rash or burn while encouraging the skin to regenerate itself. The extract has a unique combination of compounds that help even skin tone and maximize brightness for a radiant appearance, while the hydrating effect keeps that appearance soft and glowy.
Chamomile: Chamomile is a powerhouse of antioxidants and protects the skin from free-radical damage. It accelerates cell and tissue regeneration, helps tighten the pores and slows down the ageing process.
Coco Butter: It's an antioxidant, which helps fight off free-radical damage to the skin. Free radicals can cause skin aging, dark patches, and dull skin. Protecting the skin from them is crucial to keep it healthy and youthful-looking. Cocoa butter is also an anti-inflammatory, helping the skin withstand the passage of time.
What is PA+++?
What is Non-Comedogenic?
PA: The letters “PA” followed by plus signs (PA+, PA++, PA+++) on a label are a rating system developed in Japan to represent how much UVA protection the product offers. In simple language, PA+ means you get some protection against UVA. PA++ means moderate and PA+++ means high protections against UVA rays.
Non-Comedogenic: Simply put, non-comedogenic means that a product contains ingredients that will not clog or block the pores on your skin and will help reduce the chances of acne and pimples developing.
What You Should Expect
The highest expectation from a sunscreen is the lowest degree of sun tan or damage. It’s also very difficult to quantify the results of a sunscreen. However, you must know that the Detoxie sunscreen is a full spectrum, non-comedogenic sunscreen that also protects your skin, thanks to the Japanese Matcha infused in it and is easily absorbed into the skin unlike most sunscreens. Regular use would ensure lesser sun burns and better skin despite sun exposure

Use it right
Start right by shaking the tube well. Take a generous amount into your palms and apply to face and other parts of the body likely to be exposed to the sun. Massage this well into the skin. Sunscreens are most effective when applied 15-30 mins prior to stepping out in the sun. This ensures that the sunscreen is well absorbed into the skin and even if you perspire it is not easily washed off. In case you are out for a strenuous game or a swim you should reapply the sunscreen.

Frequently Asked Questions
SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor. The number tells you how long the sun’s UVB rays would take to redden your skin if you apply the sunscreen exactly as directed compared with the amount of time without sunscreen. So, if you use an SPF 30 product properly, it would take you 30 times longer to burn than if you used no sunscreen.
Sunscreen reduces your overall UV exposure and lowers your risk of skin cancer and sun damage.
Every day! The best practice is to apply 30 minutes before venturing outside to allow the sunscreen to bind to your skin. Reapply every two hours of exposure and immediately after swimming or excessive sweating.
SPF 30 is the most common level for most people and skin types. No sunscreen can block all UV rays, but what we do know is: SPF 15 blocks 93% of UVB rays, SPF 30 blocks 97% of UVB rays and SPF 50 blocks 98% of UVB rays. So, the difference between 30 and 50 is about 1 percent.
Everyone! Men, women and children over 6 months of age can use sunscreen every day. This includes people who tan easily and those who don’t — remember, your skin is damaged by sun exposure over your lifetime, whether or not you burn.
Physical sunscreen ingredients (including the minerals titanium dioxide and zinc oxide) block and scatter the rays before they penetrate your skin.
Chemical sunscreen ingredients (like Benzophenone) absorb UV rays before they can damage your skin.
UVA are the rays that cause tanning and premature aging while UVB are the rays that cause sunburns. Broad spectrum provides protection against both.
